Ms. Poonam Sharma is the backbone of PancreaCare’s operating room excellence and patient-journey support at Advitya Healthcares. With nearly a decade of high-intensity hospital experience, she brings deep expertise in Operating Theatre (OT) nursing, robotic-assisted surgery, GI–HPB surgical workflows, and peri-operative patient care.
Her experience includes roles like, Senior Staff Nurse at CK Birla Hospital, Gurgaon, where she worked across robotic OT cases with a strong focus on precision, safety, and seamless teamwork. Before this, she served as a Clinical Support Executive with SS Innovations (MANTRA Robotic System), supporting robotic cases across Gastroenterology, Cardiac, and Urology surgeries, gaining hands-on mastery of advanced surgical technology and OT coordination.
A major foundation of Ms Poonam’s career was built at Medanta – The Medicity, Gurgaon (2017–2024), where she progressed to Assistant Head Nurse and handled some of the most demanding clinical environments, including Gastro OT, OPD, IPD, Blood Bank, and critical patient coordination. Her long tenure in a leading GI–HPB centre makes her especially aligned with PancreaCare’s mission of delivering world-class abdominal and digestive care close to home.
OT expertise & surgical strengths
Ms Poonam is highly experienced in end-to-end OT functioning—from pre-operative readiness to post-operative stabilisation. Her core strengths include:
- Robotic OT case handling (including MANTRA and DaVinci robotic systems) with strict asepsis and precision support.
- Major abdominal & GI–HPB surgeries assistance, including complex procedures like Whipple’s surgery, gastrectomy, esophagectomy, bariatric surgeries, and advanced GI oncology cases.
- OT inventory and narcotic management, ensuring compliance, accurate documentation, and readiness for high-risk cases.
- Emergency & critical OT response, including cardiac arrest protocols, intubation support, CPR assistance, and trauma case stabilisation.
She is also skilled in advanced nursing and in the use of OT equipment (infusion pumps, ECG, defibrillators, syringe pumps, suction systems, etc.), enabling her to handle complex intra-operative and recovery needs with calm confidence.
A leader who trains teams
Beyond clinical excellence, Ms Poonam is a natural OT leader and mentor. During her robotic-surgery support role, she regularly trained doctors, scrub nurses, circulating nurses, and technicians in robotic case management and OT protocols. She represented robotic services at multiple hospitals and conferences.
